Benitoite's Geode

"It's an over sized rock. What's so special about a rock?"

Benitoite doesn't even know where to begin with this thing, and while she wants to throw her all into focusing on it as a distraction, it's a little harder for her to forget that there are a few dozen other people around and she's not wearing any make up. Her disease is right there, in full view, for anyone to see. It's driving her absolutely nuts! There are far too many people to distract with babble and chatter, far too many who wouldn't be able to hear her if she's not out right shouting and if she does that, well hell. Those that aren't already staring at her will definitely be staring then. 

She has to tighten her grip on the stone just to keep from jittering and bouncing in place. She has to keep her gaze focused on the damn thing just to keep from checking to see how many people are staring.

She can feel their gazes on her. On her ears and cheeks and neck and elbows and knees, and those gazes burn where the color has leeched away.

"Like really, a rock?"

Are people actually staring at Miss Bear? Probably not. I mean there's probably one or two, but Ursula is in that state of anxiety where she thinks everyone is staring at her. So. Rock. You are now her bestest best friend and will have the whole of her attention (or at least the whole of her pretend attention)
